tee hee hee... Labels: dinner, FSV, Holiday Inn Atrium
We got a lil treat from our FSV lecturer, ms Jacqueline, on 22nd Dec 2009. She blanja us to a dinner buffet at Holiday Inn Atrium because we helped out at the FSV15 reunion party. The party was a net-working platform for FSV Alumni, current FSV students and other media organisations.
So everyone who helped out in the FSV15 turned up for the dinner treat except for Joanna.

Lemme introduce my Tanglinian ladies!

It was nice to meet up again. Thought we would never see each other again. Although I keep bumping into Dila once or twice at Jurong area. And once at town. I hardly bump into Nani at all!!
So the weeks of hell has finally ended. I'm happy yet sad that it ended so fast. Labels: hell, production, rage, relationship
Never before after my years in JC have I felt so much anger and rage whenever we argue bout my involvement in my friends' student film project. To the point where I need to grab something and hurl it against the wall to see it break in front of my very eyes. *smrik* It feels good to let yourself go. For a moment, I felt I was somebody else. Someone who has been dormant all these years. And it feels great to break loose and fly again. No more sweetie qammie. Hello rebellious lady.
I realised that ever since I told him I'm helping my friends in their student film project, our relationship has never been peaceful. Every single night has to always end in bitterness. So what if we apologize to each other? The episode will only be repeated again and again every night like the annoying reruns on television. And it takes a lot of pride in me to say "i'm sorry". Because I believe these phrases have to be said with sincerity.
Call me selfish or unreasonable. But I'm entitled to my own opinions and actions. It is my life.
I do respect your concern and advice. I never ignore them even if my actions show otherwise. I do listen to them but in the end, the choice is mine to make. I may be wrong in helping my friends but there are more than one reason for me to want to help them.
Then you question my involvement in their pre-production stage. I am helping in the most minimal percentage I could as an "outsider". Because I keep telling myself that "this is not my project. I'm only helping in areas which i can afford to." Is there any wrong in that?
So I try to lessen any topics which would lead to this involvement of mine whenever we hang out together. But you insist in knowing the chores I will be helping them with. And it always ended up in us quarreling. I do not understand the degree of your anger. It is as though I committed a crime. But I do understand the reason why you are angry.
Yes. I know all these things. But I guess I treat these events in my own way. I am not saying that your way is wrong. But everyone reacts differently in a situation. I believe that is one of the traits which makes us who we are.
Yes. I believe that we should learn from mistakes. I think it is one of the best method of learning in life. Like they say, 'once bitten, twice shy". But some people needs more than learning from mistakes. I rather give a helping hand than see that person suffer. I think it would make the learning journey fruitful for both parties. Even if the other party doesn't learn from the experience, at least one of them would have learnt a thing or two. But if both party still do not learn, I suppose it takes time.
Yes. I know you meant well for acting the way you did. But sometimes, you have to let go when it is needed. I know how to take care of myself. =) Trust me.
And it is not very easy for me to be suddenly happy and smiley after a freaking thunderstorm. Lolz Eventhough apologies have been exchanged and accepted, certain things need time to heal. So, please give me time to cool down ya.
I do hope and pray that we won't have to come to this situation again in the future. I can sense the strain it has indirectly caused to the people close to us due to this melodrama. I notice it in some of their actions over the past weeks. For that reason, I do not want us to jeopardize the friendships which we had charmingly created to turn to dust. Because for that friendship to turn sour because of this reason, I find it unjustifiable.
Thus, let this be a lesson for you and me.
tee hee. i know this is like 4 days late. but it's better late than never *grinz*
This is dedicated to my sayang....

tee hee hee. Labels: bik okmah, mama, nursing home, shopping
"tolong simpan bagasi-bagasi nya besok ya. mama nak lap lantai besok." mama jest with me just now as she laid down the folded laundry on my bed.
I can't help but grin at her comment. She sure is looking happier these days. Laughing freely and joking with us here and there. It's good. Feels good too to be able to spend time with her. Family time. Something which have been lacking in my life since i joined FSV. sad...
Aaa~nyways, why 'bagasi'? mama said the row of bags looks like the check-in counter at the airport. lolz
(bagasi-bagasi = baggage)
hehe. messy hor? Have been telling myself now and then to keep the bags in their respective places. Alas, circumstances doesn't allow me to do so. heheheh -_-; excuses nonetheless.
The only times when i see mama's sad and stressed face is when she is talking bout Bibik Okmah. She's in the nursing home at Pasir Panjang now. My uncle asked the manager regarding her stay at the nursing home. The lady manager said it is a temporary situation for bout 1 or 2 months till the social worker at the hospital sort things out. Sad situation. Her body-weight is alarming heavy and big. Doc said she has diabetes and a bit of stroke. Since she doesn't have any children to take care of her, she is sent to the nursing home. Her husband also has his own illness.
Right now, we're thinking of getting a maid to take care of her at home. At least, she'll be more comfortable. And it'll help to lessen Mama's and Bibik Makmah worry bout their sister.
Mama and me went down to the nursing home to visit Bik Okmah just now since Mamang Taib asked us to accompany him to the nursing home. Sad place. It's a sleepy sepia world in there. Maybe it was the afternoon sun which played tricks to the eye. But it sure feels lonely in there despite the blaring of Channel 8 programe on the big analog tv. 1 analog tv to entertain a big classroom-size room full of frail-looking grannies. Despite it being a Sunday, I don't see many visitors around. There is about 20 grannies in that classroom-size room.
I sure do hope that my aunts and uncles will do the right thing for Bik Okmah. It's really sad to see her in such a place and condition. She has a home to live in.
As promised, mama and me went for a lil shopping trip at Isetan Orchard. She's been wanting to get a handbag since it is the SALES period. hehehe. Mamang Taib dropped us at Lido Orchard and we got home by cab.
Was browing through MANGO's sales department when mama who was behind me just shouted, "Eh, Mimah!". wth. When did this department store suddenly transformed into Teban market?!
I looked up to see where mama was walking to. Strangely enough, the said person turned around to look at mama and smiled, "Eh, Kak Mah!". hahahaha. It's Cik Mimah, mama's ex-colleague aka our Teban neighbour who lives a block away from us. Cik Mimah and family are shopping around. As always, they have their mom-chat like in Teban, while i busy myself with the tempting sales items on the shelves. mwahahahaha. Bought myself a pair of capri pants. Happy! Coz got myself a nice MANGO paperbag. hehehehe.
I need a new pair of jeans!! Sheeesh. need to shop at Bugis soon. tsk.
oh! And i had blackpepper crab instant mee goreng at Teban 7-Eleven with Dexian for supper. Lesson to self: Not to buy it again coz the pepper is too strong on an empty stomache. hehehe.
8th December 2008
It was raining in the early morning. Feels good to snuggle up in bed and laze the morning away. Alas, Adek knocked on my door to wake me up for the Solat Aidiladha at Hasanah Mosque which will begin at 8am.
1st Failed Attempt 2nd Failed Attempt
It was already 7.25am when I went into the showers. Was a raining throughout the whole morning. The solat went pretty smoothly despite the bad weather. Anthony, the maxicab driver, arrived promptly at 9.30am to pick us up at our flat carpark. After we picked up my aunt and uncle at Bukit Batok, we went to the cemetry to visit my dad and another relative who just passed away a week ago.
Anthony dropped us at my aunt's house in Bukit Batok. We stayed for awhile at their house for breakfast. Then Cik Sura and family came by to pass some of the 'daging korban' to me and my aunt.
It was still raining when we reached home at 1pm. Kak Zahrah's family, Kak Idah, Abang Khairi's family and Kak Mimi's family came by around 4pm. They stayed around til about 8pm. It was fun to see my nieces and nephews again. Keep bugging me to play with them.
Around 9pm, I went down to my carpark to meet Melvin, auntie XQ, JJ and Calvin for DX birthday surprise. JJ and Calvin kept calling the birthday boy to check on his whereabouts. In the end, after 2 failed attempts, DX finally came.
choco·late (c̸hôk′lət, c̸häk′-; c̸hôk′ə lət, c̸häk′ə-) noun Labels: chilling-out, warehouse sale
Can't believe i bought so many chocolates in a day!! I feel like a Santa Claus!! Ho Ho Ho!!
It is one of my favourite food other than ice-creams. *beams*
Qammie was quietly having her brunch of scrambled egg with bread at 1pm. She knows that Sayang will be busy with his temple camp. Calvin might be busy spending time with Gina. And Wifey aka Hui Min is nursing her sore throat.
After some channel surfing, Qammie asked Abang to go out with her to Jurong Point to buy a new personal computer later in the evening. Happy with her little plan, she settles down in the living room's sofa to watch 'High School Musical 1' on Disney Channel. Watching the Disney Musical reminded her of her own IBP 'Love Song' musical. Qammie smirked because she knows that if 'Love Song' has the right budget, it would be as grand and hip as the successful Disney musical but with a local touch.
Qammie's daydream was interrupted by her handphone's ringtone. She scrambled out of her comfy sofa to her bedroom to answer the call. On the other side of the line, a groggy female voice greeted her. Hui Min and Calvin are planning to shop for the afternoon. Qammie felt guilty for postponing the buying of the personal computer with Abang. So she promised him that they will get the computer the following day. It is not everyday that you have a warehouse sale. Besides, Qammie's shopping mood kicked in when Hui Min said the magic word -- SALE.
Qammie had went on a lil shopping spree with Sayang the previous night for her shoes and a backpack. So she has a little more to spare for this warehouse sale. *grins*
So the trio took a bus down the Boon Lay industrial park to Meiji's Warehouse Sale. It is Qammie's first time to a warehouse sale. So she is quite amazed at the tons of boxes and cartons of Meiji chocolate products surrounding her. The queue was very very long. Eveyone one has a bucket full of Meiji chocolates! Hello Panda, YanYan and some other funky looking chocolates. It looked as though everyone is stocking up for a war! Qammie felt sad suddenly because she did not have enough cash on her so she has to control her spending. *sigh* Luckily, they accept NETS transaction! So, the shopping began!
The 3 happy shoppers walked out with a big red plastic bag each from the warehouse. Amazingly, Qammie spent the least despite having so many items. Calvin spent the most. Qammie was happy to have her favourite Apollo chocolate and strawberry. While waiting for the bus back to Boon Lay interchange, the happy shoppers ate their chocolates. Calvin even offered his opened packet to the aunties who were waiting for the bus with them. Happy shoppers!
Feast your eyes on these...

After dinner at MOS Burger, the trio set off to Suntec in hope to get some watches at the FOSSIL sale. Alas, they were too late.
To end of for the night, the trio sat at the Suntec Fountain of Wealth to have a sushi supper. Sadly, Sayang was not there to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.
